We love to hear from you

When running a company, it’s easy to provide good customer service when things are running smoothly. It’s when a problem occurs, that providing good service can be a challenge and will cause the ship to float or sink. Recently, I sent a single book to you guys and there was a problem because of a glitch you had with your shipping company. Well, to make a long story short, the book was not traceable for a couple of weeks and I was getting a little worried it might be lost. After calling, I was very impressed that you folks took the time to work to resolve the matter. You confirmed my book was in fact shipped and took the time to call me at home to reassure me that all was well. A few days later, the book arrived in perfect shape and was beautifully encapsulated, as I expected. I was also very pleased with the grading! On top of that, you guys promised to make things up to me on my next order, which I’m sure you will. I realize there is no such thing as a perfect world. Problems pop up; its how we address them when the time comes that determines our real strengths. I wanted to thank you for the excellent customer service and personal care I received. I was a PGX customer long before this incident happened and I will continue to be in the future. Your product is fantastic and the customer service is exemplary! Thank you…

- Drew

Wow!! that was fast service! thanks a bunch… will be sending more soon… by the way… love Your holder much more then CGC’S.

Thank you, I love your service,

- Jabba

Dear PGX,

I wanted to drop a line to say how impressed I have been with your service. Ive heard a lot of slams from CGC and CGC supporters, but I thought Id give your service a try. I received a prompt email to confirm receipt of the books. The books were graded on time and I got my tracking number on shipment. The shipment arrived professionally packed, extremely secure. The books, in my opinion, were graded accurately. The holder is as good as CGC if not better. I also feel like I got great value out of the service, as the fees were very reasonable.

As I get more books in I will definitely use your service again.

Best regards,

- Lonnie

Hey guys,

Love your service, my books look great in your cases and I can’t wait to receive my next order. I am right now getting my third order ready. Keep up the good work. I prefer you guys over your competition. Thanks for being in business.

- Nick

Continuing adventures in PGX customer service

Hi Guys. Just got back my eight comics you graded and I’m very impressed. The holders look great and are the best in the grading world. They are clear, sturdy, easy to handle and stack nicely. You even managed to fit my slightly oversized “Space Giants” into the holder without any bends or waves. You also got my comics back to me when you said you would.

Once again thank you for the timely grading of my comics and look forward to my next submission.

- Ed H.

Hi There, I’ve received my graded books, and I am very pleased with your wonderful service. In fact, I will be using your service for more of my books in the near future.

Sincerely,

- Doug C.

Everything is super.
I was very pleasantly surprised.
Thanks very much,

- Mike

Hi guys! Got back my comic books, thanks for the excellent job! I appreciate the returned phone calls. I sent in 7 comics, 1st time customer, 6 out of the 7 came back 9.8! Excellent service! Darrel recommended you to me. I will spread the word that you are doing a fantastic job on grading comics! Thanks again….we will do more business with you.

I am very pleased with the superior customer service from your company. The grading is also very nice to see since that truly shows what condition the books are. And finally you are far superior to your competition.

Don’t take our word for it…

I just received my shipment of comics back and just to let you know, this was my first time doing this and it was a lot easier and quicker that I thought it would be and not too bad on the price either. I’ll be sending in my next group of Spiderman books this week sometime.

Thanks again……….

- David

Got my books in a hurry from you, thanks for the great service and the emails. Something that cgc should do. Also, I do not see how ebay can eliminate the reference to cgc in a listing. When I list old slot cars or models and I say Aurora like in the listing, where is the problem? Anyway, thanks again!! I was really impressed!

- Mark Zak

WOW! I send my comics priority mail 2/2008 get and e-mail 2/6/2008 telling me my books will be shipped 2/29/2008. On 2/17/2008 I get an email telling me my books are on the way back. That is just crazy. I shopped around before I ever had a book graded and started with you guys. I think I’ll stay.

Well what can I say? Superb service! Superb holder! Superb grading!!! This was the second time this year sending my prized collection of silver-age books and I am very satisfied with your services. I will continue to utilize your company in lieu of the Florida Boys! I recommend and speak highly of your services to all I encounter at conventions, shows, etc. Continue the great work and keep it honest and credible.

PGX grades Action Comics #1

Action Comics #1 PGX 9.0 (r)

Recently graded, this is a exceptional copy of one of the most collectible books out there. More comments and pictures can be found below. For questions, feel free to send us a comment.

The original owner who bought this Action Comics #1 off the stands kept it for 42 years with excellent storage, and very little handling. It was then sold through auction in 1980. I was the highest bidder on the comic, and had a tear on the back cover professionally sealed. Preservation in those days was seen by most as a good thing. Today, I would have just left the tear alone. Luckily this is just back cover bottom edge stuff.

The comic is just breathtaking to look at. It has a perfect spine, perfect edges, strikingly beautiful cover, and white pages. This is easily one of the highest grade copies of this historic comic that remains in existence.

I’m really glad I won the comic on auction back in 1980, and I’m extremely happy that I still own this amazing copy of Action Comics #1 today.

Darrel Grimes

-Owner

It was a very fresh copy that Darrel wanted a small stain removed from the front cover, a small tear closed at the base of the spine, and a tear at the base of the back cover. This was way back around 1991 or 92, so it was a long while ago. In hind sight, it is obvious that it should have been left alone but again, it was a different world for comics back then and we all thought it would be wise to do. He did not want to catch the back cover tear or small spine split on a mylar edge, which was very common in those days, and so he decided to do the work. No one thought much about minor work in those days.

It was the freshest copy I had ever personally seen.

We were very happy to get a chance to grade this amazing book. It is incredible to see a book this rare in this kind of condition. We are grading more & more Golden Age books all the time. We are grading a run of Detective Comics right now from #27 up through at least #50 and have hundreds of more incredible books coming in.

Congratulations to Darrel on this amazing book!

Adventures in PGX customer service

I am in the process of sending you several hundred books from my collection, and I have been very pleased with your service. I wanted to emphasize hopefully for public consumption an important feature of your service that sets you apart from your competition: You give honest apparent grades to restored books. In my experience, the other major grading company slaughters restored books, especially the key books that are most likely to be restored. In theory, once one has identified all of the restoration that a book has undergone, an apparent grade should be the grade that the book would receive if it was unrestored. In practice, the other folks typically award 5.0 and 5.5 grades to restored books that appear to any reasonable observer to be 8.0 and 9.0. I do not understand their motivation, but I am glad that you folks stick to the facts. Keep up the great work.

- Gary

Dear PGX, My comics arrived from PGX this morning, a week ahead of schedule I might add. Now that’s quality service! Even with much of your staff away at conventions last month, you still managed to get my books back to me nearly two weeks early! This is my first experience with PGX and I’m very pleased overall. I thought a couple of my books might grade a bit better, but hey, it is what it is and I’m not a professional grader. The holder you folks came up with is far superior to that of the competition I might add. There is no comparison. It’s superior in every way. Just holding your holder in one hand the competition’s holder in the other makes this obvious. This was my first experience sending some of my books to be professionally graded. I was so nervous about sending them across the country. You guys put my fears at ease. You e-mailed me when they arrived and did the same when they were sent back to me. Anyway, thank you. Please know you have a new customer, as I’ll be sending some more books for grading shortly. Also, you have a new advocate out here in the comic world. I will promote your service and continue to support your business. Feel free to provide my name and phone number as a reference any time. Respectfully,

- Drew

I just wanted to say you guys do an awesome job, and in my opinion are much more consistent and tougher on grading than CGC. You are a valuable service and are doing great. Thanks

- Andy

To Everyone @ PGX; I received my comics today, and wanted to take a minute to thank you folks for a job well done. These are the first 2 books I have had graded myself, although I have purchased many, and the experience was much easier, and faster, than I had expected. I was really not expecting to get them back before Christmas even though you told me it was possible, and they actually made it with almost a week to spare… OUTSTANDING!!! I will definitely be sending more books your way, as well as helping to spread the word by placing one of your banners on my website. Thanks again,

- Ron

You made my Christmas. I received my graded books yesterday. They look great. Grades are right on. And the labels are awesome. PGX will be getting all my business. I think your company did a fantastic job. I’ll be sending in another batch of books soon.

- Ken

Hello Daniel, I just wanted to let you know that I just received my graded FF#3, and I couldnメt be happier. You can be sure I will send more of my most valued books in to be graded. Thanks again,

- Kevin

Hi PGX, Thanks for the great work you do at grading comics. I’m really pleased with the outcome and the timely shipping. Thanks,

- Glen

New email from our customers

I just had an Ebay user slam you guys with lies about your grading and ethics. I have been buying CGC and PGX graded books for the last 5 years and I have never been disappointed with a PGX graded book, which has not been the case with CGC. Keep up the good work

- Anonymous

You guys are awesome. You are always friendly and courteous. If the books are a little slow getting back to me that is not a big deal. I am having trouble keeping up with my work load anyway. You have given me a much needed opportunity to catch up on my auctions. I appreciate the quality of your work and the materials that you use. Thank You for all of your hard work and doing your best to keep up with the increased demand. If you keep up the effort I imagine this will not be the last time you are a little swamped. PGX really seem to be catching on at Ebay. Thank you again. More orders will be coming soon as I am almost caught up now. Thanks again

- Wyeth

Hello, Just wanted to tell you, I received my comic today. Iメm VERY happy with your quality, service, and turn around time….. I already have another book on its way to you right now (should be there by Friday)…will be sending more in the months ahead!!! Thanks!!

- Rob

Thank you very much for the great job of protecting my books and making them look nice and presentable. I’ll be sure to use your service in the future! Thanks!

- Justin

Just dropping a line to let you know I’m very pleased with your service. I look forward to my next batch of graded comics! Thanks,

Incoming customer emails

Hello Again I got my Books back and everything was perfect. You guys packed it really nice and even better then CGC. Great grades on the books and extremely happy with it all. Will send in more books as I get stuff in time. I will be listing a lot of them on eBay soon within this weekend and the up coming weeks. Thanks again and great customer service.

- John

Just wanted to say thanks for the fast service. I’m getting ready to sell this comic (Hulk #181) on eBay (again, [used that bad word CGC in my subject line & got booted.]). The prices, turnaround time, & service means I’ll be back later. Once again, Thanks!!!

- Skip

Hello PGX: I wanted to take the time to acknowledge that I had received the 10 graded books submitted, and that for the most part I was extremely pleased. But more importantly, I set up at a relatively small show this past weekend, and I was extremely happy with the enthusiastic inquiries that I had on the books. Most all of the dealers were in agreement that your service is far superior to that of the other mainstay in the business, and all were in agreement that your holders are better. The nicer part, I thought, was all of the dealers who seem to have a genuine interest in helping increase the market recognition of your product. One dealer had both CGC and PGX, and they were all priced very similarly without any extra モpremiumヤ being added for CGC over PGX. Thank you again, and best of luck in the future!
